Over the last few decades, student housing has changed dramatically, including the types of furnishings in rooms and the specs for each piece. Furnishing student housing units is no longer a “one size fits all” job. And to us, it never was.
In the early 2010’s, after 20 years of successfully supplying domestic products, Smarter Furnishings recognized the early shift toward custom furniture designs.

With reliable access to overseas factories in Asia, NDC stepped in to provide Smarter Furnishings with fresh designs and expanded capabilities to furnish student housing units on time and within budget. Together, we developed multiple product collections, providing unique designs at direct-to-factory pricing.
Our team also worked to value-engineer products for optimal shipping and installation, resulting in cost-saving solutions for smaller student living spaces. Today, Smarter Furnishings is a leader in the higher education furniture market and has expanded to serve custom design customers across the U.S. and Canada.
